Public Works Water Utility

Line Flushing Notice

April 15, 2015

Beginning Monday, April 20, 2015, the City and Borough of Juneau Water Utility will

begin flushing the water distribution system. Work is scheduled to begin downtown,

working north to the hospital, crossing over to Douglas, then on to the Lemon Creek

area, proceeding to the Valley, and then on out to the Tee Harbor area.

Work will occur between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and will be

completed by approximately June 1st.

Customers may encounter water discoloration or minor disruptions in service. To clear

the discoloration, first wait until the work crew leaves the area, then run the cold water

tap (preferably in your bathtub) until the water runs clear.

Please watch for crews working in the roadway, use caution, and obey traffic controls.

Annual Water Valve Cleaning Notice

March 19, 2015

The City and Borough of Juneau Water Utility will be performing annual cleaning and

exercising of the water valves throughout the borough, through late May 2015.

Work crews will begin in the downtown Juneau business district, working out towards

the Highlands (Ross Way/Glacier Hwy), and then proceeding across to Douglas. Once

work is completed in Douglas, crews will return to Juneau, working northward from the

Highlands to the Mendenhall Valley, and ending in the Tee Harbor area.

Customers may encounter water discoloration or disruptions in service. To clear the

discoloration, first wait until the work crew leaves the area, then run the cold water tap

(preferably in your bathtub) until water runs clear.
