information on flight routes and operational procedures.
Mitigation
Options and Recommendations Under Existing Law, Richard Durden 04/23/01
In spring of 2001, the CBJ commissioned aviation attorney Richard Durden,
to research the City's jurisdiction over flightseeing noise, routes
and altitudes. His report is provided in its entirety.
Phase I of the Flightseeing Noise Study measures, documents and analyzes flightseeing noise generated throughout the CBJ. The study also identifies mitigation options, which may be used to reduce noise over residential neighborhoods.
The CBJ joined nine other parties in a mediation effort designed to develop negotiated solutions to flightseeing noise. The mediation team worked through the design phase, but was unable to reach agreement on next steps. The mediation team disbanded in December 2000.This link will take you outside the CBJ Tourism Web page.
