Tom Trego
Interim Wastewater Utility Superintendent
Tom Trego was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. He came to Alaska in 1969
and spent four summers with his older brothers before relocating to Juneau
in 1974. Tom graduated from Juneau Douglas High in 1977.
Mr. Trego attended Vocational Technical school for welding to become a
certified welder. During high school, Tom started employment at Phil's
Welding in Juneau and was also an Assistant Welding Instructor at UAS and
Juneau Douglas High. In 1981 he started his employment and career with
the City and Borough of Juneau, Public Works Water and Wastewater Department.
In 1991, Tom was made Supervisor in the Waste Water Collection Section where
he continued his education and training in the Waste Water field. In May
2010 after 29 years in this Section, Tom was selected to Intern for the
position of Superintendent of the Waste Water Department.
Tom is married, has three grown sons, and one daughter that is attending high school.
