at 5600 Tonsgard Blvd.


Hours of Operation

Thursday and Friday from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM



Bring your sorted recyclables

to the Juneau Recycling Center!


This service is offered to residents on behalf of CBJ and

is funded by YOU through the Waste Management Fee

as seen on your monthly Utility Billing Statement.


This program ensures that your recyclables are properly shipped to recycling centers and not added to the landfill!




Accepted Recyclables

Please separate materials by type and place them into the corresponding bins at the recycling center. Lids should be disposed of in household garbage. Labels do not need to be removed.

#1 plastic bottles and containers.

#2 plastics, including cloudy white jugs and containers and colored #2 plastic. Plastic grocery bags. Bag inside a single grocery bag and tie.

Corrugated cardboard. No waxed cardboard such as fish boxes.
White office paper
Newspaper, magazines, catalogues and mixed paper, including colored and other white paper, envelopes, (windows ok), junk mail, cereal boxes, and phone books.
Glass. Remove all lids.
Aluminum cans. No foil, pie pans, or scrap metal.
Steel/tin cans: Put metal lids inside cans and crimp closed.

Commercial Recycling Permits

Commercial Permit for Recycling are on sale for $100 for the 2014 calendar year.

No weighing or scale fees.

Borrow recycling containers for your next event!


If your organization is planning an event, CBJ Waste Management has recycling containers for aluminum cans and plastic bottles that can be borrowed to collect these recyclables at your event. Go to the menu to "Contact Us" and email us for information.


Reducing the Waste Stream:


  • Look at the packaging. If there's a lot of packaging for a little product, don't buy it.
  • Donate clean plastic bags to St. Vincent DePaul, Salvation Army, or Rainbow Foods or
  • Purchase re-usable canvas bags
  • Compost yard and food waste year round
