PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER JPD Public Safety Emergency Dispatchers provide dispatching functions to law enforcement, fire service, and other public agencies. They handle all radio traffic from the public, business community, and public agencies. Dispatching requires multitasking skills to handle complex situations; follow complex written and oral instructions; and independently determine the priority and method of performing the work. Dispatchers answer and prioritize 911 emergency and nonemergency telephone calls, when needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS At least 18 years of age at time of appointment; AND A High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
A completed CBJ application form must be received before the close of business (4:30p.m.) on July 29, 2009 .
Initial testing is scheduled for August17 & 18, 2009 . Initial testing will take place at the Juneau Police Department and must be taken in person.
