Ask a Dispatcher
Q. If you have been ordered not to have any firearms, and you're living with someone else who has firearms, will the homeowner get in trouble?
Dear Juneau Resident,
You might get in trouble, it's not clear if you are the homeowner or not. The person required not to have firearms has the responsibility of staying away from them.
In roommate situations, if the firearms are in a safe in the bedroom of the person allowed to have them and the person not allowed to have guns has no access, the guns are not in the possession of the person with restrictions. If the guns are in a common area there is a case to be made against the person prohibited from having guns.
