Ask a Dispatcher
Q. I'm replying again to the Mendenhall hang out. Thank you sooo much for stating that, it's nice to know somebody has our back on this! It's Juneau, and for us teenagers 17-20 really have nothing better to do with our time unless we have jobs after those times. I hope some time in the near future we will be allowed to have some where to go with our cars and can just hang out and not be nagged and accused of things we aren't doing. But I do appreciate the statement you made!
Dear Juneau Resident,
You are welcome. It is actually nice to see young people having real face to face interactions with each other rather than doing everything either online or by texting. We need local young people to have social skills, including assessing/controlling body language, selecting tone of voice, etc... if we are going use that labor pool to provide future officers, records clerks, CSOs, dispatchers, and more. The ages you mention seem to be times when people really develop the social poise we need at JPD.
I also look forward to you helping us keep the area safe by reporting drug and other illegal activity.
