Ask a Dispatcher
Q. I have seen people wearing shirts that seem to be a memorial to the two police officers that were killed recently in Hoonah. There is a big picture of a bear on the back. Where can I get one?
Dear Juneau Resident,
Those shirts are being sold by the Capital City Chapter of the Alaska Peace Officers Association. That group has members from JPD, AST, USCG, retired law enforcement, NOAA, Customs, civilian investigators, PFD Fraud, and lots more. The shirts are going to be sold this coming Saturday at Nugget Mall from 10am to 3pm. The profits are going to the families of the slain officers. There are short sleeve t-shirts for $20, long sleeve t-shirts for $25, and mock turtlenecks for $35.
If you can't make it to the mall, you can buy the shirts at the business that printed them, Alaskan Outdoor Wearhouse and Embroidery. It's on the way to Costco.
