Jeff Brown believes his ultimate mission in life is “to make people happy and to make people laugh.” This collection of his humorous postcards put a unique spin on Alaskan reality. Jeff says, “Many people look at a scene and marvel at its beauty. I look for the joke. . . I love puns and tongue-in-cheek humor, and lacking the ability to draw a straight line, I appreciate photography’s ability to adjust the viewer’s sense of reality and make them ask, ‘Did this really happen?” Created in the 1980’s, he points out, “The majority of these cards were produced before Photo-Shop, using scissors, glue-stick and a #2 pencil, along with a little imagination.” Next they travel to Haines where they will be on display at the Sheldon Museum and Cultural Center.
