Charcoal Portraits with MK MacNaughton
Sunday, March 16, 2014 (3:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
MK's subtitle to this class is "Brave Enough to Try". Why is it that drawing a likeness of the human face is often so intimidating? MK's goal is to help participants overcome their intimidation and enjoy the process of deconstructing all those shapes and shadows in order to realize a portrait on the paper. No experience necessary, but please bring your courage and a black and white photo of a face you'd like to draw. All other materials included in the cost of the class. Please note: the class is open to high school students and adults only and will be filled at 12 students.

Our theme is Museums & Exhibition Spaces and throughout the week we will meet people in our community who are passionate about art, historical and cultural objects and the public spaces where these artifacts are shared. We will visit a variety of places to see objects on display, and we will end our week playing host to the community when they join us for a Pop Up Museum experience at the City Museum from 4 to 5:30 on Friday. This program is open to youth ages 8 to 11 and costs $180 for the week or $36 per day (tax not included). Pre-registration and payment are required to confirm a spot.
