Youth Floorball Coming to Treadwell Arena
Zach Gordon Youth Center and Treadwell Arena are teaming up this summer to bring floorball to the youth sports lineup. Floorball will take place at Treadwell Arena during their off season, predominately in June, with the exact dates yet to be determined. Stay tuned, details will be announced soon!
Free Skate | April 20
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska is sponsoring the next Free Skate on April 20 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and Big, Littles, and the community are all invited! Skate rental is included, however they are limited and first come, first served.
3rd Graders Skate for Free
All Juneau 3rd Graders skate for free at Treadwell Arena during any drop-in session - Open Skate, Family Skate, Stick N’ Puck, or Pond Hockey. Skate rental is included. Register your 3rd grader online (look for Season Passes under the Treadwell Arena tab) and then check in at the front desk when you arrive to skate. More information can be found here.
Speed Skating Clinics
Treadwell Arena is offering drop-in speed skating all season. Sessions are one-hour in length every other Sunday at 2:45 p.m. with instruction provided by Michael Keye-Schuler and Andrew Dyke. Participants can register online in advance, or simply drop-in. Each session costs $15 +tax. Skaters must be 12+ with intermediate skating skills (must be able to skate comfortably without assistance and perform a snowplow stop). Layered, warm and movable clothing, gloves, and helmets are required. Short track speed skates will be provided and are first come first served.
Parent & Tot Ice Skating Lessons
Help your child take their first steps on the ice! Treadwell Arena is offering Parent & Tot lessons that focus on the fun and basics of ice skating. The cost is $15.75 for 1 adult and 1 tot (age 5 and under) and includes skate rental (the smallest size is toddler 8) and helmets. Lessons take place every other Sunday from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. Check the schedule to find the next available date.
