Mission Statement

The goal of Juneau Parks and Recreation is to provide opportunities for physical exercise, socialization, and healthy and constructive use of leisure time for youth and adults through sports programs.

 

NEW FEES FOR YOUTH SPORTS

The new fee to participate in youth sports is $50.  The late fee will continue to be $10 and the third and additional child fee has gone up to $15/child. The fee to sign up at the half way (and beyond) point of the season will be $30.  All Start Smart programs will be $30/child.

 

 

YOUTH SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Rockets (2010 Outdoor Soccer) practice on Friday, July 23 is CANCELLED tonight only!

 

The Thursday 8/19 game between Mutiny & Galaxy has been rescheduled to Tuesday 8/17, DP4 (the Hat Trick practice on 8/19 will be as scheduled).

 

The Extra Tuffs practices have been moved from Aug. 2 & 9 to Aug. 6 & 13, 6pm, MRS.

 

Parks and Recreation is now allowing 5 year olds to join their recreational leagues!  Players must be 5 by9/1/10 to play outdoor soccer!  Pass it on, tell a friend, sign up!  Start Smart programs are for 3-4 year olds and the Thunder Mt. Sports Camps are for 5-13 year olds.

    The Start Smart Sports Development Program is a proven instructional program that prepares children for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Parents work with their child in a supportive environment to learn the basic skills…throwing, catching, kicking, and batting for sports such as baseball, softball, soccer, etc.  Start Smart’s goal is to develop a child’s basic interest in sports, to increase their self-confidence and to help them find success in sports, all of which can lead to a lifetime of continued fitness and health.


    ONLINE REGISTRATION available for indoor soccer and Start Smart Sport Development 8/21-9/4, 2010. CLICK HERE. No printed form needed.  A credit card and email address are needed to register via Active.com (a convenience fee is charged to register this way).  Families of 3 or more and anyone registering out of their age division are unable to register via Active.com - sorry. Any times listed in Active.com are "dummy/filler" only and do not reflect the actual time of any given game or practice.  Specific team information will be made available to parents by each individual coach.
