Youth Sports - Age Deadlines


Juneau Parks and Recreation youth sports programs are for youth ages 6 -18. Players are divided into the following age intervals (not by grades): 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18. Some adjustment may be made if there are not enough players for a division (i.e. 14-18 year olds play together in outdoor soccer). This is not a "select" program nor is it a "highly competitive" one - it is RECREATIONAL. The age deadlines are set so that players are playing with people their age during that sport. Below are the "age as of" deadlines for the year:

  • Summer Outdoor Soccer 2008- age as of July 1, 2008 (age up by September 30, 2008) -- must be 6 by September 1, 2008.

  • Fall Indoor Soccer 2007 - age as of October 1, 2007 (age up by December 31, 2007).

  • Winter Basketball 2009 - age as of February 1, 2009 (age up by March 31, 2009).
