Pool Accessibility and Entry Requirements

Accessibility:
The swimming pool is accessible for the disabled and a lift is available for people who need assistance entering or leaving the pool. Special swimming classes can accommodate those with special needs.

The Juneau Parks and Recreation Department encourages participation in department activities by all persons, regardless of disabilities or special needs. Parks and Recreation facilities are wheelchair accessible.

Additional information and support services are available by calling the department at 586-5226 or the pool at 586-5325. The pool management welcomes suggestions for scheduling pool time. Any comments may be given to the cashier.

Pool Entry Requirements:
Persons using the pool must be 8 years old and able to swim one width of the pool using an overarm crawl stroke, or 8 years old and be 48 inches tall.

Persons who do not meet these requirements must be accompanied by another person age 15 years or older who is within arms reach providing touch supervision. Not to exceed an adult to child ration of 1 to 3.

Participants must be able to pass a 15-yard swim test to be allowed into the larger pool.
