Picnic Shelters ReservationsThe Parks & Recreatiion Department takes reservations for the Spring and Summer season (Mid-April through Mid- September) beginning the last Monday in January(1/31/11) or first Monday in February(2/1/10) of any given year. During the Fall and Winter Months (Late September through March) the shelters are first come first serve, there is no charge and you do not have to fill out a reservation form, bathrooms are closed, water and electricty is shut off, but a port-a-potty is available. Reservations may be made in person at the Juneau Parks & Recreation office, located on the second floor of the Municipal Building (155 South Seward Street) or by fax. We do not accept reservations over the phone.
Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. You may call Parks & Recreation for shelter availability at 586-5226.. Fees must be collected at the time of reservation Keys are necessary to gain vehicular access to Savikko Pavilion #2 and the Cope Park Shelter and require a $25 deposit. Electricity at Savikko #1 & #2 and Twin Lakes Shelter is set on a timer from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Fires in parks
End of year After the shelters have been closed for reservations (Mid-Sept.) people can’t reserve them, but may use them on a first come, first serve basis. The water will be turned off and the restrooms closed, although a port-a-potty should be present. Electricity is not available.HOURS: The parks are open from 7:00 a.m. - Midnight REMINDER: NO GLASS BEVERAGE CONTAINERS!
All shelters are ADA accessible-Cope Shelter is some what difficult to maneuver to.
First Come - First Serve FacilitiesThe following parks have picnic areas available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parks & Recreation does not take reservations for these areas.
