A GUIDE TO PARKING IN DOWNTOWN JUNEAU

 

On-Street Parking in the Downtown Parking Management Zone

  • Maximum of 2 consecutive hours free per day
  • Available on-street spaces marked by "2 Hour Parking" signs throughout Downtown Parking Management Zone
  • No registration required

Off Street Hourly Parking in the Downtown Management Zone

  • You must pay to park Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, excluding holidays.
  • Available at Shopper's Lot (Corner of Main St. and Egan Dr.), North Franklin Lot (Corner of North Franklin St. and Second St.), and spaces 5-25 in the Marine Parking Garage (290 Marine Way).
  • $.75 per hour
  • Pay by space-please deposit payment into pay box located in individual parking areas

Off Street Weekly, Monthly, and Annual Parking in the Downtown Management Zone

  • You must pay to park Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, excluding holidays.
  • Purchase a paper hang tag to put on your rearview mirror; hang tag must be visibly displayed with expiration date facing the front of the vehicle
  • Permits are transferable between vehicles
  • May purchase one week, multiple weeks, one month, multiple months, or up to a year.
  • Purchased only at the Parks & Recreation office located in City Hall, room 218

  • Paper hang tag permits are only available for the two parking garage locations listed below:

MARINE PARKING GARAGE (MPG) located at 290 Marine Way, below the Downtown Public Library (all permits purchased in person at 155 S. Seward St, room 218, City Hall)  (Currently sold out.  Please call 586-5226 for more information)

  • $15 for a 7 day permit
  • $50 for a monthly permit
  • $550 for a year permit
  • MPG permits are valid for parking in the Marine Parking Garage.  These permits are also valid for parking in the Marine Park Plaza from October 1, 2015 to April 15, 2016.
  • Not valid for hourly parking spaces (spaces 5-25), Library Parking spaces (spaces A-V), and other spaces prohibited by sign or device.
