Juneau-Douglas History Kit

The Juneau-Douglas History Kit is divided into various topics including Tlingit Canoe Activity Kit, Mystery Box, Photo Quilt, Juneau Maps and Guides, Historic Slide Show, and much more!


Kits may be checked out seperately or all together depending on availability for up to two weeks. 


History Kits:
Below is a brief list of activity sets available for checkout.  For more detailed descriptions, or to reserve items, please click here to view and download the Reservation Form. We invite you to use the Kit on a checkout basis either by itself or with an accompanying visit by a museum educator.


Tlingit Canoe Activity Set

  • “Wood and Waterways: A Look at Tlingit Canoes” manual

  • Early view of Juneau, laminated and mounted on foam board, for classroom display (to be used with canoe-making activity in manual)                                                                                          

Mystery Box

  • Mystery Box containing 12 historic artifacts in individual bags

Photo Cards & Quilt

  • Ten pairs of laminated photo cards (each pair contains one image of a different location or activity in early 20th centure Juneau and one matching image from the 1980s)
