Completing Juneau's History  20-30 minutes.  Grades K-2.  Students help tell Juneau's story and 'find gold'. 


Living in a Rainforest 45 minutes. K-4.  Learn about our Tlingit collection of utilitarian objects including the Montana Creek Fish Trap, our Tlingit canoe, and the tools that make them.  Hands-on objects and grade appropriate activities provided.  Additional canoe activity available (add 20 minutes to tour time).


Montana Creek Fish Trap 45 minutes.  Grades K-12.  Students learn about basketry style fish traps and imagine what the Juneau area was like 500-700 years ago.


Museum Explorer 60 Minutes.  Grades 4-6.  With a map of the museum as their guide, students pair up to explore and answer questions about the museum's exhibits. 


Museum Scavenger Hunt 45 minutes.  Grades 3-4, 9-12.  Students use clues to find answers hidden in the exhibits.  Juneau: City Built on Gold video can be incorporated (add 30 minutes).


Treadwell Through a Child's Eye 50-60 minutes.  Grades 3-4.  A story about the life of a young girl growing up in the mining town of Treadwell.  Students break into groups and learn about mining, social life, home life and transportation using photos and objects from the Museum's education collection.
