Rink Definitions

• Public Open Skate: Recreational skating for all ages and abilities. Open skates will be limited to 150 people on the ice.
• Adult Open Skate:Recreational skating for those 18 years of age or older and of all skating abilities.
• Youth Open Skate: Recreational skating for those under 18 years of age. Adults are allowed on ice when accompanied by a child.
• Parent/ Tot open Skate: Recreational skating for parents/caregivers and toddlers. Toddlers must be ages 5 and under. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at a maximum ratio of 2 children per one adult. No hockey sticks or pucks allowed
• Freestyle Skate: Drop-in practice ice for development of more advanced figure skaters turns, jumps, spins, program run-thrus, ice dance steps and patterns.
• Pond Hockey: Drop-in hockey. To insure enough playing time, this skate is restricted 20 26 participants and 4 goaltenders. A HECC (Hockey Equipment Certification Council) approved helmet, hockey gloves, shin pads, elbow, and hockey skates are required. No slap slots or checking are allowed.
• Stick N' Puck: Drop-in skills development only practice session. Focusing on practicing the fundamentals of hockey. There will be absolutely no game play. Full gear is required for all participants, 18 and under need to have full face shield .There will be a max of 30 skaters plus 4 goalies.
• Facility Rental: The arena may be privately rented.
  • Prime Time: (4:00pm-midnight Mon-Fri & all hours Sat and Sun) $150.00/hour plus tax
  • Non Prime (6:00am-4:00pm Mon-Fri) $120.00/hour plus tax
  • Facility rentals do not include skate rentals. Rentals must be paid in full at the Arena, phone reservations can not be made over the phone.
• Ice Time: Rentals are for ice time only, the public is allowed in the lobby and seating area during and rental time.
• JDIA: Juneau Douglas Ice Association- Youth Hockey programs. You must register with one of these programs to skate at this time.
• JAHA: Juneau Adult Hockey Association- Adult recreational hockey league. You must register with one of these programs to skate at this time.
• JSC: Juneau Skating Club- basic skating skills classes for all ages. Figure skating, power and conditioning, and ice dancing.
• Wake N' Skate: Early morning recreational skating for all ages and abilities.
