Juneau Hike ProgramGeneral InformationRecreational hikers of all abilities are welcome to join in and experience Juneau’s gold mine of exciting trail lore, wildlife, flora and fauna. Hikes are offered every Wednesday and Saturday by volunteer hike leaders who educate while they lead. Hike leaders are certified in CPR and first aid. Explore some of Juneau’s history as you travel over trails once used by the gold miners of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Enjoy the spectacular scenery, beautiful wildflowers and good company. No dogs or firearms, please. Information will be on the Parks and Recreation Department (586-0428). For more detailed information, call the Parks and Recreation Office during regular business hours.
