Brent Fischer, Parks & Recreation Director
Brent Fischer was born in San Diego, California. He moved to Juneau in 1991
with his wife to be close her family. Brent was one of the first Alaskans to
earn the designation of Certified Public Manager from University of Alaska
Southeast. While in California, Brent worked ten years for a national
telecommunications company. Positions held were operator supervisor, lineman,
residential and business account representative and then as the company
president’s liaison to the California Public Utilities Commission.
He started his career with the City and Borough of Juneau in 1994 as the Events
Supervisor at Centennial Hall. He transferred to the Facilities Maintenance
Division in 1996 as Facilities Manager and then was selected as the Facilities
Maintenance Superintendent in 1997.
Brent is an active member of the Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the United
States Air Force. Brent is married with one daughter.
