Dimond Park Aquatic CenterDimond Park Aquatic CenterThe Dimond Park Aquatic Center facility broke ground in the fall of 2009, and has an anticipated opening date of early 2011. Between now and opening day there will be a huge number of details both large and small that need to be finalized, so that when this brand new center opens to the public we can hit the ground running! The construction project is continuing and (after a long winter) is finally beginning to move at a faster pace. The site is now beginning to look more like an aquatic center and less like a hole in the ground! But building the physical structure is only part of the story. Staffing, managing, hiring, training, programming, purchasing large amounts of equipment and supplies, marketing, budgeting, establishing operational hours and policies and procedures……..the list of things to do and the decisions to be made is seemingly endless. But every day, one step at a time, we are getting closer to our Grand Opening, and closer to providing our community with exciting new aquatics and land based program opportunities. 2010 will be a busy and exciting year as we, as an interested community, drive by and watch this brand new aquatic center continue to take shape! We will be posting regular updates including pictures of the construction sight and news on Dimond Park happenings (including a design competition being held right now).
