Illustrated by Jon Klassen
Although Pax is technically a childrenís chapter book, itís a must read for animal lovers of all ages. The story is told through two narrators, Pax, the fox, and his boy, Peter. A lot of hard lessons are learned on both sides, but these lessons lead to growth and independence. Itís a story of love, loss, friendship, and determination, and is so very relateable. The story ends like you would imagine, and even though I was left with a hole in my heart, wishing it had a happier ending, Iím glad I read it.
