|CATALOG ENTRY||Stephen King|
You don't have to be a fan of Stephen King or an aspiring writer to enjoy his combination memoir/how-to on the events of his life relevant to his writing career and his advice on how to write; all you have to do is like books that are well-written and interesting. However, if you are a King fan, or do aspire to publish, you will find plenty to like here.
King shares the process of writing some of his best-known novels, such as Misery, The Stand, and Carrie, his break-out book, which became a success just in the nick of time. His advice on writing is approachable and direct, and useful even if you don't intend to attempt to be published (although he has lots of good advice about that), and I came away with new appreciation for this best-selling author.
