For this first Coffee & Collections of the season, Mary Tanaka Abo, Margie Alstead Shackelford, Karleen Alstead Grummett and other members of the Empty Chair Committee will share the back story of this memorial which honors Juneau's Japanese community who were unjustly incarcerating during World War II and is now installed at Capital Park. It is a fascinating and inspiring tale of friendship, determination, discovery and the power of community.
