February 2013

Handmade Paper

Join the Juneau-Douglas City Museum and David Riccio for a Coffee & Collections focusing on paper. Riccio's presentation will provide a brief history on paper and paper making. He will bring several examples of Japanese paper, Japanese fibers, as well as Juneau paper created by using local plants. Riccio will show printed artwork that shows a traditional etching, an embossing, and wood cut. He will also bring an etching plate, a sample wood block, and a linoleum block. Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn about paper and paper used in printmaking with a knowledgeable and talented local artist.
