The Juneau-Douglas City Museum had a roaring good time with this motorcycle-themed exhibit!  It kicked off with a biker parade down Fourth Street and featured four classic motorcycles from the 1920s-1970s. Contact the Museum Store for more motorcycle memorabilia!

Summer 2007

This entertaining, hands-on exhibit featured vintage toys and games from Juneau's past.  The poster features a photograph by Paul Sincic of five boys playing marbles circa 1947.  Visit the Museum Store for more classic toys!

Dancing the Ice Worm Wiggle: Recreation, Entertainment & Amusements of Early Juneau

Summer 2002

This exhibit got its name from the title of Carol Beery Davis' original song, Ice Worm Wiggle. The poster features Trevor Davis' photo of women dancing the Ice Worm Wiggle in front of the Mendenhall Glacier.  For more on photographer Trevor Davis and composer Carol Beery Davis, click here!

The companion postcard to our Playful Pasttimes exhibit features five Tlingit children playing marbles circa 1947.  The photo was taken by local photographer Paul Sincic.

Frances Brooks Davis postcard

In 2006, the Juneau-Douglas City Museum featured the work of Frances Brooks Davis in Her Passion for Painting.  An accomplished painter, she captured a wide range of subjects, from wildlife to religious scenes to Native life.  Locally she is recognizable as the artist of the large paintings that were saved when Holy Trinity Church burned to the ground in 2006.   The postcard features a photo of Frances taken by her son, Trevor Davis.
