|What do we require of you?
Youth Services is pleased to schedule regular or one time group visits to any one of the three Juneau Public Libraries.
All groups must be scheduled in advance with the Youth Services Librarian 586-0435. Drop-in visits are inappropriate
For groups whose students require subject searching, special training is available for parents and teachers who will accompany the group.
We can accommodate each group for one 30 – 45 minute visit per month, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 3pm but special arrangements may sometimes be made for other days or time. We also schedule onetime visits of groups like boy or girl scouts or out-of-town groups.
We are eager to issue children library cards when they have permission cards signed by their parents or guardians. If you would like to have cards issued as a group, please make arrangements with the Youth Services librarian prior to your visit.
Stories are enjoyed by all ages. With younger children we usually mix stories with songs, felt-board stories or movement activities to add a little variety.
With older children we may tell more complex stories or booktalk chapter books of interest .
|How to use the Library
How to find things in the library and how to use the on-line catalog effectively are two ways that the librarian can be of assistance. Remember, if there is a particular need, advance notice will make the library experience more satisfactory as well as enjoyable.
