Through a series of matching grants provided by the National Park Service (NPS) and administered through the Alaska Office of History and Archaeology (OHA), the CBJ conducted a survey and inventory of the historic resources associated with the Alaska Juneau Gold Mining Companys operations in Last Chance Basin. Additional matching grants from NPS/OHS were used to nominate the Jualpa Mine Camp Historic District to the National Register of Historic Places, perform a structural analysis of the buildings and structures in Last Chance Basin and ultimately to perform rehabilitation work.
