About The Auke Bay Loading Facility
The Auke Bay Loading Facility (ABLF) is a work station that is located down from the Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal (approximately a 20 minute boat ride from Statter Harbor). Complete with a 180’ drive-down dock, cranes, power, and water, and long-term or short-term storage capabilities for various necessities, it is the ideal locale for loading and unloading vessels with materials (groceries, fishing gear, etc.) and performing maintenance on vessels. There is also a commercial launch ramp available at the ABLF. To use this launch ramp, you must purchase a commercial launch ramp permit ($250) and schedule with the Statter Harbor office a reservation for using the launch ramp. Click on Auke Bay Loading Facility at the top of this page to be able to purchase your commercial permit online.
The ABLF is a RESERVATION ONLY facility. Any vessels who moor at the ABLF without a reservation will be asked to leave. Please note, this is strictly a working facility; there is no moorage allowed; someone in your work party must be with the vessel at all times. If you are using the ABLF to load and unload materials and you do not need a crane, please keep the cranes clear for others who may need to use them.
**For a more comprehensive list of ABLF rules and rates for usage, please see the Auke Bay Loading Facility Info page.
Please call the Statter Harbor Office at 789-0819 for a reservation to use this facility.
Office Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Closed from 12 - 1 pm for lunch
