Mission Statement:
The Finance Department is committed to providing the highest levels of
financial services to the public and user departments. This includes
insuring that proper controls and procedures are in place to manage and
protect the publics resources. We regularly evaluate and balance
our service levels customer needs, efficiency and available resources.
Efficiencies are developed through staff training opportunities, promoting
teamwork and by providing employees with a challenging and fulfilling work
environment.
Administration of the Citys financial matters is the responsibility
of the Finance Department. The Finance Department is divided into six separate
divisions:

Directs department operations, monitors the CBJs financial condition, coordinates budgetary
projections and the biennial budget and annual audit processes.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining an equitable and uniform real and business personal
property assessment program.
PROPERTY ASSESSMENT APPEAL INSPECTIONS
If you have filed a property assessment appeal with the Assessor's Office and you have not been contacted to schedule
a property inspection appointment, please call 586-5220 to set-up an appointment. The Assessor's Office will schedule a mutually agreeable time to inspect the appealed property.

Responsible for maintaining the overall integrity of the CBJs general ledger, including the
proper recording of the transactions and compliance with legal requirements and generally accepted
accounting principles. This includes keeping the general ledger in balance, account maintenance,
researching and resolving all subsystem problems.

Responsible for the overall integrity of CBJs purchasing management, including assisting
departments in procurement document preparation thru award and contract administration.

Responsible for the overall integrity of the CBJs sales tax operations, including
auditing merchants for compliance with general sales tax, excise tax and business personal
property declaration reporting.

fully collected, maintained in safe custody, properly accounted for and invested.
