CIP Architecture Division
The CIP Architecture Division provides professional services in planning, design, and project management of architectural works funded annually by the Assembly as part of the city and boroughs Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Projects typically managed by the division include new building design and construction and building renovation projects. In addition, the divisions Facilities Architect provides professional support to the Building Maintenance Division in planning and execution of current and long range maintenance projects.
The divisions project manager duties include client department liaison; project budgeting; scheduling; scope definition of consultant services; assist in competitive selection process of consultants; contract administration and construction inspection; administrative oversight of professional service and construction contracts; approval and execution of pay requests; negotiation and processing of change orders; negotiations of contractor claims; final inspection, and project closeout.
The division also provides technical assistance and support to client departments in estimating project costs for non-CIP projects. The City Architect serves as the city staff liaison to the School Districts School Facilities Committee, and the Facilities Architect serves as the city staff liaison to the Energy Efficiency Committee.
