The Summer trail is clear of snow to the top of Ptarmigan and the top of Black Bear. The Lower Nordic Trail is clear of snow all the way to Fish Creek. Summer has arrived on the mountain!

Porcupine Lodge office hours this summer are Monday through Wednesday from 10am-2pm. Come by or call the ticket window at (907) 790-2000 x214.

Just a reminder that Alaska Zipline Adventures has moved into the Porcupine Lodge and all facilities are now closed to the public for the summer.

Hikers and bikers are urged to bring plenty of water. A public toilet is available in the lower parking lot. There are also public toilets available at the Eagle's Nest at the top of the mountain.

Juneau's Winter Playground

Visit Juneau, the beautiful Capital of Alaska for adventues large and small. Located on Douglas Island, Eaglecrest spans 640 skiable acres with a vertical drop of 1620 ft and is a short 30 minute scenenic drive from Downtown Juneau.

A 2 hour trip from Seattle or Anchorage. Flights scheduled several times daily, check specific travel dates on airline websites.


Traveling on the Alaska Marine Highway, Juneau is a convenient stop at the Auke Bay Ferry Terminal for passengers with vehicles or on foot. Visit the Alaska Marine Highway System website for more information


From Auke Bay: Take Route 7 South (Egan Drive) for approx. 11 miles. Turn right onto the Juneau-Douglas Bridge. From the roundabout take the first exit onto North Douglas Hwy. Continue on North Douglas Hwy for 6 miles. Turn left onto Fish Creek Rd and follow to the end.

*Please note: Juneau is a de-facto island, with no roads leading in or out of the city, all road systems are within Juneau limits. Visitors must take a flight or boat to access Juneau.

Lodging and Apres Ski

Juneau has many winter accomodations, including hotels, hostels and a ski bus shuttle to bring skiers up the mountain to Eaglecrest. Eaglecrest Ski Area does not have loding available, but is easily accessible from Downtown Juneau. Start your vacation by visiting the Travel Juneau website.
