Eaglecrest School Programs

Eaglecrest offers school aged youth the opportunity to ski or ride at Eaglecrest at greatly reduced rates as part of their physical education program. Eaglecrest also invites homeschoolers and students throughout Southeast Alaska, to participate in the Mid-Week School program.

Eaglecrest Ski Area

IDEA Ski & Snowboard Program

The goal of this 10-week program is to give school age students an opportunity to ski or snowboard as part of a physical education curriculum.

Raven Ski & Snowboard Program

The goal of this 10-week program is to give school age students an opportunity to ski or snowboard as part of a physical education curriculum. * Students must be six years of age to participate.

Independent Home School Ski & Snowboard Program

The goal of this 8-week program is to give school age students an opportunity to ski or snowboard as part of a physical education curriculum.

5th Grade Passport

All 5th graders in Juneau are eligible to receive a passport good for free lift tickets at Eaglecrest. In addition, they receive one free equipment rental and one free lesson. This program, subsidized by Eaglecrest, is entering its fourth year and is a favorite within the community.

The free lesson and free equipment rental cannot be used with any mid-week school program.

Books 2 Boards

This program is funded in part by the Eaglecrest Foundation and provides Juneau middle school students the opportunity to enjoy winter sports at Eaglecrest at no cost. Students for the program are chosen by teachers and staff based on their economic and social need, grades, and attendance. Students chosen are expected to keep good grades, good attendance and low behavioral issues in school. In return they are provided free lift tickets, ski/snowboard rentals, bus transportation and access to clothing including jackets, pants, gloves, and helmets.

Books2Boards is also sponsored in part by Mendenhall Auto Subaru and by grants from Holland America Line.

Hilary Lindh Season Pass Scholarship

At the start of each Eaglecrest season we begin accepting applications for the Hilary Lindh Scholarship. The Eaglecrest board of directors awards four unlimited season passes to Juneau area students. Two passes are awarded to a girl and boy in grades K-5, and two passes are awarded to a girl and boy in grades 6-12. Typically scholarship decisions are made in the begining of December. Applicants are judged on scholastic achievement, competitive or passionate spirit, and financial need.
