Electrical Power to the top of the mountain

The State of Alaska provided funding to connect the FAA weather tower atop Eaglecrest to the AEL&P power grid. The first phase will run power to the lodge in 2008 with power reaching the top of the mountain in the summer of 2009.

With electrical power being available at the mountain, Eaglecrest will convert the chairlifts to electrical power. These conversions will begin in the fall of 2008 and be completed in late 2009. The Day Lodge will be hooked up to electrical power in the fall of 2008. These projects will significantly reduce our diesel load.
