Description: The Juneau Airport is a municipal airport. The airport is a department of the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ). A seven-person board that is answerable to the CBJ Assembly governs the airport. They oversee the maintenance and operations of the airport while fiscal responsibility lies with the CBJ Assembly. Membership: 7 members + 1 Assembly Liaison. No member of the airport board, or member of a board members immediate family or household, may be employed by the Airport. No more than 3 members may be tenants under a lease with the airport, or an officer or employee of a tenant under lease with the airport. Officers: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary Quorum: 4 Term Limits: Code section 05.01.010(d)provides: No member of the airport board who has served for three consecutive terms or nine years shall again be eligible for appointment until one full year has intervened (with exceptions provided in 05.10.010). Annual Appointment Period (Annual Reports Due): June Meetings: The Airport Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month in the Airport Alaska Room. Special Facts: In addition to the regular meetings of the Airport Board, members are assigned to Finance and Operations Standing Committees and special ad hoc committees as the board may find necessary.
