Win Gruening, Alaska Committee Chair, will present the Alaska Committee’s FY07 budget request for $383,500. Funding for the Alaska Committee is provided from funds designated for Better Capital City.
Included in your packet are the Alaska Committee’s 2005 federal tax return and a spreadsheet with their FY07 budget request and expenditure history.
V. Manager Recommendations for State Funding
SB231, which was passed by the Legislature, provides funding to assist the CBJ with the increases in PERS, energy and other costs. SB231 provides $1,397,093 for PERS and $1,250,000 for other cost increases. A portion of the PERS will be allocated to the Enterprise and Internal Service Funds. The remaining $1.04 million is for general governmental operations. There are no restrictions on the $1.25 million.
Included in your packet is a list of changes in funding sources and Manager recommendations for use of the additional funding.
VI. Pending Items
The School District, Juneau Family Birth Center, Small Business Development Center, Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center and Taikuu Educational Services have presented requests for funding to the Assembly Finance Committee (AFC). These requests are listed, in no particular order, for the AFC’s consideration.
