IV. Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau (JCVB)

Lorene Palmer, JCVB Director, will present the JCVB’s FY07 budget to the Finance Committee.  Included in your packet are the following items:

• A memo from Ms. Palmer with JCVB’s FY07 budget highlights.
• JCVB’s Marketing Plan Summary
• JCVB’s operating budgets for FY06 and FY07
• Two magazine articles highlighting Juneau as a visitor destination.

V. Eaglecrest

Kirk Duncan, Eaglecrest Manager, will present a brief overview of the 2005-2006 ski season, the plan for FY07 and highlights of the FY07 budget, which is included in your packet.

The Eaglecrest Board is requesting an additional $100,000 in general fund support.  The funding level in the Manager’s recommended budget is $500,000, the same as FY06. 

VI. Bartlett Regional Hospital

Representatives from the BRH board will present the FY07 budget, which is included in your packet.

VII. School District

HB 13 increases the base student allocation and the district cost factor.  These changes, if approved by the Governor, will increase the amount of funding the School District will receive from the State ($1,495,900 in foundation funding and $416,600 in Legislative grants).  This change also increases the CAP to which CBJ is allowed to fund the School District.  Included in your packet is a letter from Peggy Cowan, Juneau School District Superintendent, requesting $344,062 in additional funding from the CBJ.  This additional funding brings the CBJ’s contribution to the new CAP.
