Capital City Fire/RescueCapital City Fire/Rescue Scholarship Program:Capital City Fire / Rescue received funding under the FY 2008 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant. This grant was issued to build our number of volunteer and live-in firefighters by encouraging University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) students to join the department with tuition and fee reimbursement. Students may pursue any major but will be required to complete certain benchmark courses set by this program such as Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter I. A total of 12 scholarships will be awarded to students attending UAS. Housing will also be available at no cost as part of the live-in program. 2012 Scholarship_Application Blank Form
