Capital City Fire/RescueStructure Fire 416 Gold Street 9-14-2010On Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at approximately 1620 hours, Capital City Fire Rescue responded to 416 Gold Street for a report of a structure fire. Two engines, two ambulances, one ladder truck and one rescue truck responded with approximately 25 personnel. Smoke and flames were visible from the third floor window of the structure. The structure involved was a multi-family building. The fire was contained to the top of the third floor stair landing. The fire was only in this unit and was quickly extinguished. There was approximately $25,000.00 in fire, smoke and water damage. There were no injuries reported. There was a child and mother in a unit on the second floor that were alerted by a by- stander to evacuate the structure. Assistance was provided by the American Red Cross. The building owner provided hotel accomodations for all of the tenants. It is unknown if the sturcture was insured, but the tenants where the fire occured did not have insurance. At this time the fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal. |
