Capital City Fire/RescueResidential Structure Fire 24 Mile Glacier Highway, 7-17-10On Saturday, July 17, 2010, at approximately 1:30 pm, Capital City Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 24624 Glacier Highway. This structure was outside of the fire response district, but the response was authorized only for life safety consideration as the home owners were unaccounted for and a vehicle was still parked in the driveway. Upon arrival, fire personnel found the structure fully involved with fire and quickly spreading to other structures and brush. Fire personnel only applied water to keep the surrounding structures and brush from igniting and spreading the fire. The onwers were contacted and accounted for. There were no injuries. The structure was a total loss and not insured. After investigation, it was determined that the most likely cause of the fire may have been electrical. |
