Capital City Fire/RescueStructure Fire - 12-24-2012 Fosbee ApartmentsOn Monday, December 24, 2012, at approximately 7:20PM, Capital City Fire Rescue responded to 361 Distin Avenue for an automatic fire alarm activation. Upon arival, fire personnel found smoke approximately 3 feet off the floor on the second floor hallway. There was an apartment on the second floor where the fire occured. The tenant found the fire and a maintenace worker used a portable fire extinguisher to knock down the fire. Fire personnel made sure there were no hot spots and assisted with building evacuation and smoke removal. There were no injuries reported. The tenant did not have insurance. The fire investigation revealed that the possible cause for the fire was electrical decorative lighting. Damage is estimated at approximately $5,000. Submitted by: Fire Marshal Daniel Jager |
