Helicopter crash with 1 person injured

On Thursday May 5, 2016 CCFR received a call at 2:18 pm of a helicopter crashed at the base of Guardian mountain on Norris Glacier. The helicopter only had the pilot on board and was injured from the crash. A private dog team company that was working at the glacier performed the initial medical treatment. CCFR sent an air rescue team with Temsco helicopter to the scene to pick up and medevac the patient to BRH. It is unknown at this time what caused the crash or the severity of the injuries of the pilot. The FAA and Alaska State Troopers are aware of the situation. Submitted by Assist. Chief Ed Quinto
