Capital City Fire/Rescue

4-6-2015 Structure Fire 5690 Glacier Highway

On Monday, April 6, 2015, at approximately 3 AM, Capital City Fire Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire in an apartment above the Lemon Creek Subway located at 5690 Glacier Highway. While enroute, dispatch advised that police officers on scene noticed blackened windows and smoke and flames showing from a second story apartment. Fire personnel made a quick attack on the fire that was located in the bedroom of one of the second story apartment units. JPD Officers Terry Allen and Brian Dallas assisted with getting all occupants out of the building without any injuries just prior to fire personnel arrving. The fire marshals conducted a fire investigation immediately following the extinguishment of the fire and have determined the fire started on a bed in one of the bedrooms. The actual cause of the fire is still under investigation. Preliminary estimated loss and damage due to smoke and fire is approximately $15,000.
