Boat and storage building fire on Harbor way.

On Tuesday March 31 at 0936pm CCFR received a call for a boat fire. Units responded to Harbor way next to the Marine tech center. This area was being used for boat storage and a welding shop... Initial Fire Company arrived on scene and found a small boat in the middle of the storage lot along with multiple structures on fire. They also found a male on scene with an injury that was transported by our ambulance. The fire crew started laying out fire hose to extinguish the fire. Additional engines and manpower arrived on scene to assist in extinguishing the fire. The fire was under control at 1040 pm. Fire was confined to multiple to the middle of the storage lot where there were metal shipping containers being used as storage units and a welding shop. A small boat in the middle of the lot was also involved. There were various fishing and pleasure craft boats on the lot that sustained minor damage. 3 fire engines and approximately 36 CCFR members were on scene to extinguish the fire. No CCFR members were in juried. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshals and Juneau Police Department. Submitted by Assistant Chief Ed Quinto
