Capital City Fire/RescueVehicle Fire Glacier Avenue 3-3-11On Thursday, March 3,2011 at approximately 7:17 p.m., Capital City Fire Rescue was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Glacier Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a car that had darkened windows and the car horn activated. Investigation revealed that there was a small fire in the stearing column and driver side seat. The owner was not present at the time of the fire and the cause of the fire is a possible electrical failure. Due to the doors and windows being shut, the fire was snuffed out before it was able to progress from the driver side. The interior of the vehicle sustained heavy smoke damage. There were no injuries reported. Submitted by: Fire Marshal Daniel M. Jager |
