Rich Etheridge, Fire Chief


Chief Richard Etheridge, was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. Chief Etheridge joined the Glacier Volunteer Fire Department in 1992 where he served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for 6 years. In 1998, Chief Etheridge left the fire department to serve as an Alaska State Trooper, returning to serve the community of Juneau in October of 2002 in the capacity of Capital City Fire Rescue's Fire Prevention Officer.

Rich Etheridge has served as Fire Marshal, Career Division Chief, and Acting Fire Chief for the fire department and was appointed to his current position as Fire Chief in May of 2010.

In addition to his duties as Fire Chief, Rich also serves on the board of directors for the Alaska State Fire Chiefs Association in addition to spending the last four years on the board of directors for the Alaska Fire Arson Investigators Association.
