MEETING NO. 99-08:
The special meeting of the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly, held in the Assembly Chambers of the Municipal Building, was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Dennis Egan.Assembly Present: Garrett, Kibby, MacKinnon, Perkins, Powell, Hagevig, Muņoz, and Koelsch
Assembly Absent: Egan
A quorum was present.
Staff Present: Kelly Grant, Acting Municipal Clerk; Dave Palmer, City Manager; John Corso, City Attorney; Cheryl Easterwood, CDD Director;
Presiding officer Koelsch asked if any of the assemblymembers had specific questions they would like Ms. Bridges or Ms. Easterwood to present during their testimony. Mr. MacKinnon referred to Ms. Easterwoods answering brief to the Planning Commission, page 2, line 23 26 the Land Use Code requirement. He said line 27 states an allowable or conditional use permit for the development of this use is not require, yet above that line, it says anything other than a single family dwelling within these area requires a conditional use permit. He asked for clarification on that.
Ms. Munoz asked for clarification of the locations of Ms. Bridges house as it related to photo 000088. Ms. Munoz went on to ask for clarity on the indemnity insurance that was first recommended to be provided by the Planning Commission and then later rescinded.
The appellant, Page Bridges, represented herself. She was allowed 30 minutes, total time, to present her arguments. The appellees were allowed 30 minutes, total time, to present their arguments. Ms. Cheryl Easterwood, Director of Community Development Department represented the Planning Commission.
The Assembly was given the opportunity to ask questions of each presenter. No witnesses were called in this proceeding.

Assembly Action:
Mr. Koelsch announced that the Assembly deferred judgement on this appeal pending further information. Mr. MacKinnon clarified that Mr. Koelsch and Mr. Corso would get together to get that information.
