Juneau Affordable Housing Commission
History & Mission
On December 2, 2006, the Assembly held an Affordable Housing Summit in a joint meeting of the CBJ Assembly, Planning Commission, and the Affordable Housing Coalition. As an outcome of that Housing Summit, the Assembly adopted Resolution 2390 creating the Juneau Affordable Housing Commission. The Commission was established for a three-year period beginning January 2007 to make recommendations to the CBJ Assembly, through the Lands Committee, on all aspects of affordable housing. The Commission became a continuing CBJ Commission on November 23, 2009 with Resolution 2506 which repealed Resolution 2390.

Meetings are scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month at 5:15 p.m. in City Hall, Conference Room #224. The public is welcome to attend these meetings. .

CBJ Mobile Home Down Payment Assistance Program
CBJ has partnered with True North Federal Credit Union (TNFCU) to create a program that will provide low interest loans to qualified residents for up to 50% of the down payment. Residents must be able to match the other 50%. Loans will be available at 1% interest and are not to exceed $10,000. The borrower will have up to five (5) years to pay back the loan.

CBJ Homeowner Accessory Apartment Incentive Grant Program
The Accessory Apartment Incentive Grant program provides $6,000 in grant funding for homeowners to add an accessory apartment to their home.
Annual HUD Point in Time Homeless Count Data
The Point-in-Time (PIT) count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night each January. In 2016, PIT data for the State of Alaska began to be broken out by community, including Juneau. Data quality is improving each year with the addition of a Tableau Public map of the PIT in Alaska
Project Homeless Connect Data - Juneau
Project Homeless Connect is a local event that connects the communities' most vulnerable residents with resources including housing applications, healthcare, haircuts, ID's, and many other services. The Juneau Coalition on Housing and Homelessness times this event to coincide with the the Annual Point In Time Count in order to engage with as many residents as possible on that day. Note: The data below is for the PHC event only -- and is one part of the overall PIT Count.
